Real experiences. Shared honestly.
ReclaimRx Health was born from our own experiences with weight, metabolic health, and the search for care that felt personal, supportive, and built around the individual. We’re sharing our stories because they are part of why ReclaimRx exists. As our community grows, we know this page will grow with it — filled with experiences shared voluntarily by the people who choose to trust us with their care.
Angela Caswell and Carolyn Pankalla are the co-founders and owners of ReclaimRx Health. The accounts below reflect their personal experiences and are shared in their own words. Individual experiences and results vary. Treatment eligibility, medication, dosing, and treatment plans are determined by a licensed provider, and no particular outcome is promised or implied.

"I spent 20 years fighting my own body."
Angela Caswell, Co-Founder
For years, I thought my struggle was about food.
Looking back, it wasn't. It was about what food had stolen from me.
Yes, there was the food noise. The constant thoughts. Thinking about lunch while I was eating breakfast. Planning dinner before the day had even started. Promising myself I would do better tomorrow. But the food noise wasn't the hardest part.
The hardest part was what happened every night. I would lie in bed and tell myself that tomorrow would be different. Tomorrow I would be stronger. Tomorrow I would have more self-control. Tomorrow I would finally get it right. And then tomorrow would come. The cravings would come. The thoughts would come. The promises would be broken. Again.
Every time it happened, a little piece of my confidence disappeared. Eventually, I stopped trusting myself. I started seeing myself as someone who couldn't follow through. Someone who couldn't figure it out. Someone who lacked discipline. Someone who was failing. The weight wasn't just something I carried on my body. I carried it emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
I remember hiding in pictures. Standing behind people. Volunteering to take the photo so I wouldn't have to be in it. I felt like I was the biggest person in every room. The ugliest person in every room. The least confident person in every room. When people looked at me, they saw weight. What they didn't see was the shame, disappointment, defeat, and feeling of being completely out of control.
For years, I believed my answer was simply more willpower. Looking back, my journey taught me it was much more complex than that.
One of the most profound changes in my personal journey was experiencing what it felt like for the constant thoughts about food to finally become quiet. For the first time in decades, I felt peace. I found myself no longer constantly negotiating with food. I wasn't obsessing over my next meal. I wasn't fighting myself all day. For me, it felt like a freedom I hadn't experienced in years. Over time, I went from 280 pounds to 125 pounds.
But the number isn't what changed my life. What changed my life was getting myself back.
Today, I have the energy to serve, the confidence to lead, and the freedom to show up fully for my family, my grandchildren, my church, and the people God places in my path. For the first time in a very long time, I don't feel like I'm surviving. I feel like I'm living.
My journey taught me that every person's experience is different, and what worked for me may not be the right path for someone else. That's why I believe so strongly in personalized, provider-guided care.
That's what Reclaim means to me. Reclaiming my confidence. Reclaiming my energy. Reclaiming my purpose. Reclaiming my life.

"My metabolism felt broken."
Carolyn Pankalla, Co-Founder
For years, I thought if I worked hard enough, I could figure it out.
I wasn't the person constantly thinking about food. In fact, food had become the enemy. I watched every bite. Counted calories. Tracked my meals. Researched nutrition. Followed the plans. Did the workouts.
I tried carnivore. Intermittent fasting. Low-carb. High-protein. Berries. Meal plans. You name it, I tried it. And yet somehow, the weight was not coming off.
The harder I worked, the more confused I became. I would watch my husband lose weight. Friends would lose weight. People around me seemed to be succeeding. And there I was, doing everything I was supposed to do and seeing little to no progress.
I remember looking in the mirror and thinking: "Who is that person?" Because I didn't even recognize myself anymore. I felt defeated. Frustrated. Discouraged.
Then someone asked a question that changed everything: "What if this isn't a willpower problem?" "What if it's insulin resistance?"
For the first time, something made sense. I wasn't failing. My body needed support. When I finally started addressing the root issue, everything changed. The weight began to come off—not because I suddenly became more disciplined, found another fad diet, or finally tried harder—but because I was finally working with my body instead of fighting it. Over time, I went from 157 pounds to 117 pounds.
What matters most isn't the number. It's what I got back. My energy. My confidence. My strength.
Somewhere along the way, I realized I hadn't just lost weight—I had rediscovered the woman God created me to be.
At 57 years old, I feel better than I have in a very long time. Today I can lead, serve, worship, and pour into others without carrying the frustration and discouragement that followed me for so many years.
That is what transformation means to me. Not becoming someone different. Becoming myself again. That's what Reclaim means to me. Reclaiming my health. Reclaiming my energy. Reclaiming my confidence. Reclaiming my purpose. Reclaiming my life.
